in scholarships to 26 recipients
The Board of Directors of the Indiana Credit Union Foundation has
awarded $15,110 to 26 recipients for use at credit union-related
sessions and seminars in 2005. Representatives from 17 credit unions
will be able to take advantage of a number of educational opportunities
including CUNA’s Management School, the Midwest Marketing
Conference, the League’s Managers Conference, the League’s
Volunteer Leadership Conference and much more.
Foundation Chairman Ron Budzinski of La-Porter FCU explained that
the grants go to the heart of the Foundation’s mission to
support Indiana credit unions. “These scholarship recipients
will come back from their sessions with the tools to make their
credit unions stronger,” he said. “The Foundation is
pleased to be part of that effort.”
The Indiana Credit Union Foundation, in addition to awarding scholarships
for educational assistance for credit union staff and volunteers,
also reviews grant requests. Credit unions or other organizations
needing financial assistance in order to reach out to their community
to provide education, service to underserved areas, or community
development programs can apply for a grant from the Foundation.
