CUnited funds also will go to CURA
September 28, 2001
The Indiana Credit Union League’s newly established
CUnited Emergency Relief Campaign has extended its support to include CURA, the
"Credit Unions Rebuild America" fund, which is managed by CUNA and the
National Credit Union Foundation.
When Indiana announced its program Sept. 20, the New
York Credit Union Foundation was chosen as the recipient of all funds raised for
emergency relief in the state. As details of the CURA fund became known, the
League decided to extend its support. The CURA fund has designated the Red Cross
and the United Way’s collaborative September 11 Fund as its primary
beneficiaries.
"The funds we’ll be giving to CURA will allow us
to round out our disaster relief efforts," said League President John
McKenzie. "Sending CUnited donations to CURA ensures our credit unions
that, in addition to supporting those in the credit union community, their
contributions will go to the Red Cross and the United Way, two organizations
that are legendary when it comes to disaster assistance."

by Indiana credit unions can be viewed on the League’s Web site.
