Indiana League and Mid-States Corporate Announce Formal Partnership
March 19, 2002
Indianapolis--The Indiana Credit Union League and its subsidiary Servicecorp
have entered into a formal business partnership and strategic alliance with
Mid-States Corporate Federal Credit Union.
The partnership will include collaborative efforts in providing education
programs and exploring joint venture opportunities using the combined resources
of the League, Servicecorp, and Mid-States. It includes exclusive arrangements
to promote the services of each organization to Indiana's credit unions. The
partnership also establishes Mid-States as a premier sponsor of the annual
Indiana Credit Union League convention.
"Indiana's credit unions are the biggest beneficiaries of this
partnership," said League President John McKenzie. "It will allow us
to explore the full potential of synergies between our organizations."
"By consolidating our efforts and creating a formal partnership between
our two organizations, we expect to greatly enhance the strong relationships
both organizations have developed with Indiana credit unions," explained
Mid-States President David Preter.
While Mid-States is headquartered in Illinois, it is owned by the credit
unions of both Illinois and Indiana as the result of a 1999 merger between
Mid-States and the former Indiana Corporate Federal Credit Union (INDICORP). The
Mid-States board, Supervisory Committee, and Credit Committee are comprised of
credit union representatives from both states.
The two organizations are committing to a long-term partnership philosophy
that will enable Hoosier credit unions to gain the most value from the two
organizations they own.
The Indiana Credit Union League is the statewide trade association for
credit unions in Indiana. Ninety-two percent of the state's credit unions are
league members, representing some two million individual accounts and more than
$11 billion in assets.
Mid-States Corporate Federal Credit Union has assets in excess of $4.2
billion. With a national field of membership, Mid-States provides investment and
correspondent services to credit unions in several states, but primarily serves
the credit unions in Indiana and Illinois.
