REGARDING INDIANA GOVERNOR FRANK O'BANNON
September 9, 2003

Indianapolis - "Governor O'Bannon has been a friend and supporter of credit unions for as long as he has held elected office," said Indiana Credit Union League President John McKenzie. "His leadership as governor has benefited Hoosiers across the state including more than 2 million credit union members. Along with the rest of the state of Indiana and people throughout the country who know and respect him, our thoughts are with Governor O'Bannon and his entire family at this time."

This photo was taken in January of 2001. It shows (from right) Gov. O'Bannon, League President John McKenzie and Logan Smith, who is a past Chairman of the League. The governor attended the League's 2001 annual Legislative Affairs Forum, which coincidentally, was held on his birthday. The roomful of credit union representatives and legislators who were there, stopped what they were doing to sing a rousing version of "Happy Birthday" to the Governor.
