Dinner certificates, golf passes, sports tickets, electronic devices,
mini-vacations and so much more will be available to you in the Credit Unions
for Kids Online Auction throughout the month of April.
Three auctions will run on eBay between April 1 and 30—each will be 10 days
long and will contain unique items. In total there are more than 100 items with
a value of nearly $19,000 that will be sold during the month. Indiana credit
unions, credit union service organizations and vendors have donated these items.
Proceeds benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
If you are not registered as an eBay user, do it now, then visit http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/CUFORKIDS
after April 1 to start shopping!
A full list of items, including each one’s value and the name of the
organization that donated it, can currently be viewed at http://www.icul.org/Auction/2004DonatedItems.asp.
This is the second year for the online auction, the idea for which originated
from Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) a few years ago. The event is
operating as a partnership project between PEFCU and the Indiana Credit Union
League. "We were able to raise $5,000 in 2003 and this year we are
positioned to more than triple that amount," said Bill Connors,
president/CEO of PEFCU. "The funds from our auction will help the hospital
to continue the highly-specialized work that has made a difference in the lives
of so many families."
"Riley is the premiere children’s hospital in our state,"
explains League President John McKenzie. "And since there is such a solid
partnership between the hospital and Indiana’s credit unions, we’re proud to
have created an event that can make that relationship even stronger."
Here are some other highlights from the auction list:
- Autographed items from John Mellencamp as well as football greats Dan
Marino, Steve Colbert, Roger Staubach and more
