Indianapolis credit union leader Ann Garmon receives Professional Achievement Award

INDIANAPOLIS---Ann Garmon, President/CEO of Drover Street Federal Credit Union in Indianapolis, was presented with the 2004 Professional Achievement Award by the Indiana Credit Union League. The presentation was during the trade association’s annual meeting and convention Sept. 17.

Garmon has been with her credit union for 34 years and in the top leadership position since 1981. She has been responsible for much growth and has added a number of leading-edge services.

In addition to her work at Drover Street FCU, she is an active member of the board of directors of the Council of General Motors Credit Unions and the Combined Council of Automotive Credit Unions. These groups promote education, credit union philosophy and lobbying efforts for the benefit of all credit unions as well as those that are associated with the automotive and aerospace industries. She is an active member and past president of the Central Chapter of Credit Unions and has co-chaired a silent auction for the Children’s Miracle Network for the past six years.

The Professional Achievement Award recipient is chosen each year from nominees around the state. Individuals are nominated for their professional accomplishments, their commitment to the credit union movement and the contributions they make to their credit union and community.
