Unions for Kids Online Auction raises $13,000 for Riley Hospital
June 14, 2005
INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana credit
unions raised $13,000 in the third annual Credit Unions for Kids Indiana Online
auction. Hosted on eBay, the auction ran in three segments throughout the month
of May selling 164 items. Digital cameras, iPods, DVD players and other
electronics were just as popular as the autographed items, sports tickets, golf
and dining experiences and other items that were donated by 47 Hoosier credit
unions, their vendors and friends. In addition to the items won by members and
employees of Indiana credit unions, winning bids came from across the United
States, giving the Credit Unions for Kids message wide exposure.
Proceeds go to Riley Hospital for Children, the
state’s only comprehensive resource for its youngest, sickest children. Indiana
credit unions have supported the hospital for several years through Credit
Unions for Kids.
“We’re grateful for creative
fund-raising support from hundreds of credit union employees and members across
Indiana, as well as those from around the country,” said Kevin O’Keefe,
President and CEO of the Riley Children’s Foundation. “The online auction is an
example of how Credit Unions for Kids inspires others to support Riley
Hospital.”
