Marion credit union volunteer receives achievement award

INDIANAPOLIS—
Robert Sturm, who is on the board of directors of Fortress Federal Credit Union
in Marion was presented with a 2006 Volunteer Achievement Award by the Indiana
Credit Union League. The presentation was made during the trade association’s
annual meeting and convention Sept. 23.
Sturm is a past board chairman of the credit union, serving 27 years in that
role. He has been a director since 1966 when the credit union was called RCA
Federal Credit Union. During his tenure there, he has been involved in many
initiatives, including serving as a volunteer project manager for the credit
union when it purchased and remodeled its current headquarters building at 615
North Western Avenue in Marion.
While Sturm was recognized for his work with the credit union, he also is an
active volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club.
The Volunteer Achievement Award recognizes credit union volunteers who have
given of themselves to promote the credit union ideal and to better the credit
union movement in Indiana.
