Indiana ignite working groups established
Initiative brings together 20 innovative credit union professionals

INDIANAPOLIS—Twenty credit union professionals from 17 Indiana credit unions have been selected to participate in the inaugural ignite working groups, with their first meeting scheduled for Jan. 30.

The ignite initiative is the first of its kind at the state level, a joint venture between the Indiana League and three Indiana credit union representatives associated with the Filene Research Institute’s i³ program. Those three individuals are: Doug True, SVP of Technovation at FORUM CU and President of FORUM Solutions; Bob Falk, President and Chief Operating Officer at Purdue EFCU; and Nan Morrow, Vice President of Corporate Development at Centra CU. Applications for the working groups were collected during the fourth quarter of 2007. Participants were selected based on their credit union background as well as their answers to essay questions and the references they provided.

“This group of credit union professionals is well-equipped to foster the exchange of ideas, innovation, and collaboration among Indiana credit unions,” said League President John McKenzie. “They represent an array of management-level expertise and emerging leaders from various sized credit unions throughout Indiana.”

The working groups will develop new ideas and will be responsible for their implementation and/or the implementation of existing ideas presented by Filene’s i³ group. Additionally, as part of the ignite initiative during 2008, the League will host education sessions—where attendance will be open to all affiliates—on topics such as innovation and creative thinking, which will be of interest to the leaders and emerging leaders at Indiana’s credit unions.
