INDIANAPOLIS - Credit unions joined cooperative businesses from throughout Indiana for the first-annual Cooperative Business Showcase. The event took place at the Indiana Statehouse Jan. 26, and it encouraged cooperative businesses to interact with legislators as they arrived for the day.

“Credit unions have a strong presence at the Indiana Statehouse and this event was a nice way to build on our relationship with legislators,” said League President John McKenzie.

The event was organized by the Indiana Cooperative Development Center (ICDC) where credit unions are represented on the board of directors. According to ICDC, there are 365 cooperative businesses in the state and those businesses employ more than 15,000 individuals.
