Seeking Nominees for League Awards Programs by June 7
The Indiana Credit Union League Awards Committee is now accepting nominations for its awards programs: the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame, the Professional and Leadership Achievement Awards and the Emerging Leadership Award. There are additional details about these programs on the League website. This information will be mailed to credit union board chairmen also. The nomination deadline is June 7. We will follow up with nominees whose names are received by then and ask them to submit information about themselves for the Awards Committee by July 19.
We encourage you to review the criteria for these awards and consider nominating someone from an Indiana credit union. If you know a current Manager/CEO who deserves recognition for his or her contributions, please submit a nomination form for the Professional Achievement Award. If you know someone who has made significant contributions and has given outstanding long-term service to the Indiana credit union movement in their role as a credit union volunteer/official, please take time to nominate that person for the Leadership Achievement Award—this was formerly known as the Volunteer Achievement Award.
If you know someone who has given long-term service to the credit union movement, nominate that person for the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame. Or, consider nominating an emerging credit union leader—someone who does not yet hold the President/CEO title, but who you believe has the potential to be an Indiana credit union leader in the future—for the Emerging Leadership Award.
The nomination form for these prestigious awards is also available on the League’s website. The nomination deadline is June 7. Nominees will receive a Personal Data Form to complete, which asks for additional and more specific information about their qualifications and accomplishments. The League observes a two-year nomination process, so qualified candidates who returned their Personal Data Forms last year will be invited to update them and will be automatically considered again this year. The information collected from the Personal Data Form will allow the Awards Committee to select the individuals who are truly outstanding members of the credit union community.
The Awards Committee, which is comprised of both League board members and non-board members—all with impressive credit union experience—will select the winners. The winners will be recognized at a banquet during the League’s 85thh Annual Convention October 23-25, 2019. Also on the website is information about the statewide competition for CUNA’s awards programs—the Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility, the Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action and the Desjardins Financial Education Awards.
