​Regional Branch Manager

The key to our success is having exceptional employees. We are seeking applicants for our new position of Regional Branch Manager, with oversight of 4 - 6 branches.
 
The Regional Branch Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the operations and management of several retail branch offices located within the field of membership.  Specific responsibilities include implementing credit union strategies relative to the retail branch function, ensure exemplary member service, drive growth and profitability and coach to goal achievement, and ensure that financial rules and regulations are adhered to within the scope of responsibility.  Also ensures that branch security is maintained and all internal security policies are followed by branch personnel.  Will execute all requirements for supervision of assigned staff members including assisting direct reports with human resource related matters.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1)     Assume responsibility for providing exceptional support and assistance to credit union personnel in the operations / sales functions and member service within the designated branches. 
a)     Functions in the position of overseeing day-to-day management of the assigned branches to ensure delivery of the strategic objectives through the most efficient means, including monitoring, implementation, and business fundamentals as they apply to the daily operations. Ensure that standard operation policies are followed.
b)     Manages branch sales performance and profitability through operational metrics, management tools/reports/surveys, techniques, and seeks improvement opportunities through tracking.
c)      Utilize knowledge of credit union products/services, industry trends, and team information to efficiently coordinate and promote sales and operational success and business opportunities.
d)     Ensure exceptional member service is delivered by implementing service standards, training managers to provide prompt and accurate service, and exceed the member expectations.  Ensure the daily branch operations have a focus on member service.
e)     Oversee work activities with the staff relating to training, procedures, and makes recommendations to the Director of Retail to make changes for enhanced retail success, disaster recovery, security programs, robbery procedures, and the loss/fraud prevention processes.
f)       Manage risk and compliance for the assigned branches in the effort of mitigating risk for the credit union by updating, implementing, monitoring, communicating retail policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, and adherence.
 
2)     Effectively supervises area staff, ensuring optimal performance and exceptional member service.
a)     Manage, coach and, counsel retail staff in the assigned branches including how to provide fair and objective feedback to staff, managing performance, and career development through training, supervising, maintaining consistency in reviews, and recognition in a timely manner. 
b)     Ensure staffing levels are appropriate via recommending staffing levels, interviewing potential candidates, making solid recommendations for new hires, and assigning personnel as needed by utilizing an approved staffing metric.
c)      Review and approve employee scheduling which effectively utilizes and manages overtime, extended hours, vacation, and other options to ensure the best use of staff resources and sufficient coverage.
d)     Assists staff to reach goals and objectives through coaching to achieve their full potential by providing the employee quantifiable feedback of their results and performance. 
e)     Facilitate individual and area meetings to develop team motivation; project and performance management; and enhance employee communication along with gathering employee feedback to act on opportunities in a timely manner. 
f)       Fill in at a location when warranted in any retail position.
 
3)     Assume responsibility for ensuring that professional business relationships exist with members, vendors and trade professionals  
a)     Act as a community leader; actively participate and inspire team to participate in the community relations activities, groups, and boards to represent the credit union.
b)     Coach and counsel branch managers on developing professional business relationships to enhance sales for the branch.
c)      Assume responsibility for related duties and completes special projects as required or assigned by the Director of Retail.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience (5 to 8 years) preferably at a financial institution
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Thorough knowledge of credit union branch operations, including all products and services and applicable policies and standard operating procedures.
Financial Institution rules and regulations.
Lending with underwriting, funding, sales, and service.
Functional knowledge and service experience with leading technologies used in the Credit Union industry as a delivery channel (i.e. WebEx, mobile banking, online banking, remote deposit capture, bill pay, etc.).
Intermediate understanding of financial statements, branch profitability, data analysis, budget preparation, and management.
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
At least three to five years of progressive experience in sales, lending, and deposit related positions as they relate to retail branch management.
At least 5 years of branch operations supervisory or manager experience.
Self-starter with experience successfully managing remote operations.
Multi-branch leadership experience.
 
SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Strong leadership, supervisory, project management, and organizational skills.
Able to operate related computer applications and business equipment.
Depth of PC and automated branch processes, including, but not limited to:  word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Superb interpersonal skills to motivate and develop staff and enhance employee morale.
Excellent communication skills in written and verbal format with the ability to make presentations and draft proposals that engage and compel others to positive action.
Ability to travel extensively between locations and lead a team remotely.
