INDIANAPOLIS – Brett Rinker of Industrial Centre Federal Credit Union in Muncie is a 2011 recipient of the Indiana Credit Union League’s Emerging Leadership Award.
Brett is Chief Operating Officer at Industrial Centre FCU where he has worked for 14 years. He is responsible for lending, marketing, compliance and human resources functions at the credit union. Brett is a first-year member of the League’s ignite program, where he and his group have developed an innovation that is focused on using credit card rewards as a means to save for children’s educations. Rinker is also a board member for the White River Valley Chapter of credit unions, a position he has held since 2008.
“I believe leadership is about effectively communicating your goals and expectations to your team and then empowering them to do their jobs,” said Rinker. I also believe that it is necessary to recognize that the credit union movement is much bigger than your individual credit union, and what affects one of us affects us all.”
The Emerging Leadership Award was developed in order to recognize the next generation of credit union leaders in Indiana for their accomplishments and for their potential to be an Indiana credit union leader in the future. Rinker was honored Oct. 7 during the Chairman’s Awards Banquet, a special event during the Indiana Credit Union League’s annual convention.
