News Release: Indiana credit unions honored for community service, financial literacy and philosophy in action

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Credit Union League has honored credit unions for their achievement in the areas of community service, credit union philosophy in action and excellence in youth financial literacy. All three awards are named for credit union pioneers in each of the areas. Those credit union entries receiving first place honors in their asset size category at the state level were forwarded on to national competition. The following credit unions received awards:

Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility
Asset size: $20-$50 million
First place: Evansville FCU
Second place: ITT Employees (Fort Wayne Division) FCU

Asset size: $200-$500 million
First place: Heritage FCU, Newburgh
Second place: Finance Center FCU, Indianapolis

Asset size: $500 million +
First place: Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis
Second place: Indiana University CU, Bloomington
Honorable Mention:
FORUM CU, Fishers
Purdue EFCU, West Lafayette
Centra CU, Columbus

Louise Herring Award for Credit Union Philosophy in Action
Asset size: $50-$250 million
First: Indiana State University FCU, Terre Haute
Second: Industrial FCU, Lafayette

Asset size: $250 million +
First place: FORUM CU, Fishers
Second place: Purdue EFCU, West Lafayette
Honorable Mention: Finance Center FCU, Indianapolis

Desjardins Award for Excellence in Youth Financial Literacy
Asset size: $50-$150 million
First place: First Trust, Michigan City

Asset size: $150-$500 million
