INDIANAPOLIS—John Lightle, board member and past chairman of Via Credit Union was presented with the 2010 Leadership Achievement Award by the Indiana Credit Union League. The presentation was made on Sept. 24 at the Chairman’s Awards Banquet, a special event during the League’s annual convention.
Lightle became a credit union volunteer in 1979 and has been instrumental in the credit union’s progress since that time. In addition to his involvement directly at the credit union, he is a member of the Indiana Credit Union League’s Political Involvement Task Force, and he is a past president of the Grant County Chapter of Credit Unions.
In addition to his work with the credit union, Lightle is Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Marion Campus of Ivy Tech Community College in Marion. He is involved in numerous committees, commissions and boards of directors in the Marion/Grant County community, and he is co-owner of Burke Place Bed and Breakfast in Marion.
The Leadership Achievement Award recognizes credit union officials who have given selflessly to promote the credit union ideal and to better the credit union movement in Indiana.
