INDIANAPOLIS—Michael J. Burch, President/CEO of Crane Federal Credit Union (CFCU), was presented with the 2010 Professional Achievement Award by the Indiana Credit Union League. The presentation was made at the Chairman’s Awards Banquet on Sept. 24, as part of a special event during the League’s convention.
Burch has been at the helm of the credit union since 2004. He began working there in 1985 as the Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure, Burch has overseen a number of “firsts” including a number of products and services as well as the credit union’s first corporate facility constructed outside the gates of Crane NSA. He was instrumental in the credit union’s selection by the Department of Defense to be the first financial institution to serve a military installation in more than 13 years—Crane FCU will serve both Camp Atterbury and Muscatatuck Urban Training Center in Southern Indiana. Crane FCU assets have grown from $26 million to $333 million during his tenure.
In addition to his work at the credit union, Burch is a member of the Indiana Credit Union League’s Bylaws and Resolutions Committee, a member of the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation, a member and treasurer of the Greene County Economic Development Foundation and a Business Planning Consultant for Daviess-Martin County Joint Parks, West Boggs Park.
The Professional Achievement Award recipient is chosen each year from nominees around the state. Individuals are nominated for their professional accomplishments, their commitment to the credit union movement and the contributions they make to their credit union and community.
