INDIANAPOLIS – Dallas Bergl, President/CEO of INOVA FCU in Elkhart received the Indiana Credit Union League’s 2022 Chairman’s Global Good Award.
Established in 2019, the award recognizes involvement in global or domestic projects that further credit unions and their values with immigrant populations, or in foreign countries.
Bergl is a board member of the World Council of Credit Unions, and he is also on the board of its foundation. Thanks to his representation and influence, credit union leaders from around the world have visited Indiana and Indiana leaders have traveled abroad to assist credit unions in other countries. Visitors have come from Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, the Netherlands, Ireland, and the island nation of Dominica.
Notably, Bergl was instrumental in putting together a delegation from Indiana to assist credit unions in Dominica in 2018 after a hurricane devastated the island. He has also represented Indiana and the worldwide credit union movement through presentations he has made at World Council events in the Bahamas and the Netherlands.
The League and Indiana’s credit unions were recognized by the World Council with its 2020 Distinguished Service Award. While this award pays tribute to the work of many people and credit unions, without Bergl’s leadership of global credit union efforts on behalf of Indiana, it would not have been possible.
The Indiana Credit Union League is the statewide trade association for credit unions in Indiana. Those credit unions serve more than 2.8 million Hoosiers.
