INDIANAPOLIS – Nina Baker, President/CEO of ProFed FCU, was inducted into the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame during the Indiana Credit Union League’s Convention on October 2. The Hall of Fame is the League’s highest honor, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the credit union movement.

Baker has devoted 40 years to ProFed FCU, beginning her career as a part-time teller and advancing through positions of increasing responsibility before becoming President/CEO. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to serving generations of credit union members and supporting the Fort Wayne community. She led the Northeastern Chapter of Credit Unions for more than 20 years and has helped foster collaboration among credit unions throughout the region.

Her commitment to making a difference extends beyond financial services. Under her leadership, ProFed has generously supported Riley Hospital for Children. Baker also played an important role in establishing the Indiana Sister Society of the Global Women’s Leadership Network, creating opportunities for women in the credit union movement to connect, develop professionally, and support one another.

Baker has been equally dedicated to advocating for credit unions and their members. Through visits to Washington, D.C., participation in advocacy events throughout Indiana and meetings with legislators hosted at her credit union, she has built strong relationships with policymakers and helped communicate the value credit unions bring to their members and communities.

Her service to the broader credit union movement includes participation on numerous Indiana Credit Union League committees, a national committee focused on emerging credit union issues, and the Indiana Credit Union Foundation Board of Directors. She also served on the League’s Board of Directors from 2017 to 2026, including as chairwoman from 2023 to 2024, helping guide the organization’s work on behalf of Indiana credit unions and their 2.8 million members.
