Wage Category: Exempt (Salary)
There is no additional compensation for overtime hours (e.g. hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per week).  Bonuses, if any, are at the discretion of the board of directors and are not guaranteed.

Reports to: President/CEO and/or EVP/Chief Strategy Officer

Supervises: Branch Managers and Compliance Specialist

Primary Purpose of Job: Responsible for assisting the Vice President and President in the overall management of the Credit Union. Responsible for the daily operations of the Credit Union in compliance, electronic services, lending/collection, membership, and teller services. The Operations Manager will function as a loan officer.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees overall credit union compliance and maintains comprehensive knowledge and compliance in Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, Customer Due Diligence, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act. 
  • Make loan decisions, which reflect the credit union’s lending policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor Credit Union compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, and suggest changes to ensure compliance.
  • Generate and evaluate ideas to improve services, service levels, or credit union products.  Motivate staff to generate ideas as well.
  • Adhere to all credit union policies and procedures and insure the staff does likewise.
  • Insure the integrity of the security systems and procedures.  Maintain the office security systems and insure all personnel are acquainted with the security procedures.
  • Develop staff into productive, efficient, and knowledgeable employees.
  • Document, evaluate, and motivate staff in areas of goals, attitude, and quality of work.
  • Maintain the office in a professional image.
  • Oversee agenda for quarterly all staff meetings to communicate changes in policies, motivate staff, provide additional training, and develop a team atmosphere.
  • Prepare and conduct monthly management team meetings.
  • Handle employee situations in a timely and fair manner, adhering to credit union policies and applicable employment regulations and laws.
  • Resolve member complaints and problems.  Analyze for trends and notify the President as necessary.
  • Visit branch locations randomly and monitor that rate boards reflect current rates, offices and employees portray a professional image and review website for correct information.
  • Primary Collection Officer. Prepare Delinquent Loan Reports for Board Review.
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Supervision or management experience in a financial institution
  • Experience with consumer lending/collection programs, policies and procedures
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle emotional situation such as loan denials, member complaints, etc.
  • Knowledge of consumer financial products
  • Successful experience in a sales environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop employees.
