INDIANAPOLIS – Matt Lambert, CEO of Encompass FCU in Tipton, was inducted into the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame during the Indiana Credit Union League’s statewide convention. He was recognized at the Chairman’s Awards Banquet on October 14.
His rise to the CEO position at his credit union fueled his passion and commitment to other young professionals at Indiana credit unions and inspired him to help establish the League’s Emerging Leadership Advisory Group and other League events and activities that focus on young leaders at credit unions. He was a member of the League Board from 2012-2021, and he was League chairman from 2015-2016.
His advocacy on behalf of credit unions has included meeting and working directly with legislators and regulators, traveling to Washington, D.C. for many interactions, and hosting a member of Congress at his credit union. Additionally, Lambert has served the national credit union movement as a member of Credit Union National Association (CUNA) committees that focus on consumer financial protection and cooperative alliances.
“This industry and movement are such an exceptional place to spend a career,” he said. “It is a true honor to even be considered for the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame and being officially inducted alongside so many other distinguished and successful leaders is a personal highlight of my career.”
This video was produced to showcase Lambert’s career highlights.
The Indiana Credit Union League is the statewide trade association for credit unions in Indiana. Those credit unions serve more than 2.8 million Hoosiers.
